I am looking for information anyone has about the first WOOTENs who lived around the Maple Hill area, as my family now lives there.

MARSHBURN--I am looking for any information on my grandfather, Dr. Eustis Randolph Marshburn, born Oct 27, 1887 in Maple Hill, Pender Co., N.C. I believe his parents to be J. H. Marshburn (1853-1932) and Rachel Marshburn (1845-1928). He graduated from Emory Uiversity and was a doctor at the state prison in Raiford, FL. My mother was 9 years old when he died in 1934 or 1935 and we have limited information on him. Any ancestor or descendent information on this branch of the Marshburn family would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for more info on John GILMAN who married Jane MCCANNE. Their daughter,Mary Ann,married Christopher H.Rowe. The Gilmans and McCannes probably lived in Duplin,but I think John had land in Pender. Family history says that the BRADHAMS are kin to the MCCANNES. I would like more info on that too. Christopher ROWE later married Susan Margaret MURRAY.

Looking for information on William C. MOTT or MOTTE, born around 1801 in Pender County. Married Mary(?). Children are Matilda, b. 1829; Hinton, b. 1831; Mary E, b. 1833; John Mack, b. 1838 (?). John Mack was my ggrandfather. He married Mary C. REAVES and had two sons, William Val and John Van. But I have not been able to verify Wm. C. other than one reference on a census list. Any information will be appreciated.

I n addition to my other Query on the BLOODWORTH & WALKER surnames,I have also found out that Johnny and Carolyn (BLOODWORTH) WALKER owned a large area of land and had slaves.The 1790 census has a John WALKER having 61.This could be true.My Grandmother has confirmed that he had slaves,but I dont know a way to back up this information.If you have any ideas please E-mail me!Thanks!Debbie Debbieritz@aol.com

Hello, I am looking for anyone with any information on the ORR family.My mother was Mildred Marie,(better known as Marie.Her brother and one sister still live in Burgaw and Montague respectively.Orr Farm Road is the road to my grandfather Robert H. ORR Sr's farm. He was better known as Herman ORR.There are still a pile of Orr's in the area,but my contacts have very little information.Could anyone be of assistance? My ancestors came from the Pender area (Burgaw) from at least 1790's to W.W.II. I am trying to find out anything on a David GEORGE born about 1790 and who had two sons, Edward GEORGE, born 1815 and David GEORGE, born 1828. The son David died in Nov. or Dec. 1885, perhaps in Wilmington.

I am new at this genealogy game, but would like to learn more about my family. In particular, I am seeking information on my grandfather, William B. Bland b 07/12/1856 married to Melvina T. Benton b 08/14/1876. I know that he was married again after Melvina died, but I do not know to whom. I would like to learn the dates of death of both parties, the name of the second wife, and the names of all his children. My great grandfather was William A. Bland married to Alice Gore. Dates, places, and names of children are unknown. Any information on these two would be appreciated. My family was from what is now Brunswick County, but they moved around a lot including Pender County. My mother's name was Ruby Kathleen WOODCOCK, born 12/29/16; died 10/16/64 mar. Johnnie Neal DUFF born 4/16/14 Duplin County, died 9/23/70; they were married in Dillon, SC 7/1/32 lived in Pender County where I was born Peggy Jean DUFF, Burgaw, NC. My gmother's name on my father's side was Tina Eva GURGANIOUS. Would love to find out any info on the Gurganious family. I know she had brother's and some sisters don't know how many and can not remember their names I was very young the last time we visited and believe it was somewhere near Wilmington? in Duplin County not sure though.
