BORDEAUX, HENRY posted by Judith Smith on Monday, February 22, 1999

I am looking for additional information about Benjamin BORDEAUX and Martha HENRY BORDEAUX. They were former slaves. I found them in 1870 census. I have been able to track them up to 1900. Benjamin was born approximately 1818 and Martha was born approximately 1834. One of their daughters, Melinda, was my father's grandmother. They lived in Lincoln Township in Burgaw, NC in 1870. After slavery, they filed an affidavit of cohabitation. They were listed as being married since 1851. I would like to track them back into slavery, i.e. learning which plantation they lived on.
