I would like to find the grave of a Pearcy or Pearsis BYRD buried in Pender County. She was the daughter of William BYRD and Jemima MURPHY of Duplin County. She was born between 1835 and 1855. Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery is a possibility. If located would like to know location and tombstone inscription.

BROWN, COOK, RACKLEY, SUTTON posted by Candie Campbell Wollard on Friday, July 24, 1998

On 17 Dec 1880 Sarah "Cornelia" SUTTON and Thomas John RACKLEY; my great grandparents; were married in Pender Co, NC. Their families are from Sampson County, NC. I am trying to find out where in Pender County (what community or church) they were married. Also if their families were living in Pender County at the time of the 1880 Census. Cornelia's parents were William Mark SUTTON and Sarah Elizabeth COOK. Thomas John's parents were Valentine V. RACKLEY and Jane BROWN. I am also searching for any leads on the parents of Sarah Elizabeth COOK, I think she was part of the COOK group in Sampson Co. It is possible she had a brother Lewis COOK and Sister Matilda COOK as I found them next door in the 1870 Sampson Co Census. Were there any COOK families in early Pender County records? Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you, Candie.

WELLS posted by Edna Clack on Saturday, August 8, 1998

Do any of you WELLS researchers have anything on Sarah WELLS b. ca 1793 and her daughter Casandra Jane b. ca 1820? Don't have Sarah's husband's name. I know the WELLS were in Pender, but were they my family?

PAGE posted by Steven (Czar) Page on Monday, August 17, 1998

This may be a stab in the dark for I have nearly exhausted all resources trying to find the parents of my g-grandfather Richard S. PAGE (1832-1912). He was born in Sampson County but his family may have came from Pender County or the "Page" area in it? Has anyone done any PAGE surname research in Pender? Would like to see if we can connect.

I have received an ancestor chart showing William Pender, born 1810 in North Carolina - When I went to the Pender County History Page, I noticed that Pender County was named for a William PENDER. How do I find out if this is the same person as the Pender on my chart. He was married to Winneford WILKS. Any help or assistance you can give will be appreciated

BURTON, PADGETT, ROCHELLE posted by Sheila Anderson-Lewis on Sunday, October 25, 1998

i am looking for names of all the people buried in the PADGETT graveyard on hwy 210. i have the names of J.B. BURTON, Nannie Shaw BURTON and Susie BURTON. I know a Samuel BURTON is also buried there but did not see that listing in an old library listing. He died in the late 60's i think. I would like to have the names of all those buried there, as the cemetary is grown over and hard to get into. If you find this information, please let me know.

I am also interested in finding the cemetary in Onslow County where Dehlia May ROCHELLE (BURTON) was buried sometime before 1953. Thank you.
