MOTT, born about 1801, owned land on Moore's Creek and transferred land on the Black River to his grandsons in 1844. They were WM. James HERRING and Martin VanBuren HERRING. Who were their parents? Possible Mary C. Mott or Matilda MOTT? Who was their father? Any information will be appreciated.

He died in 1930 and is buried in Burgaw, NC. Where I don't know. I need to post information to this message board in hope for some type of family connections. The surname is "BALDWIN" and my great uncle's name was Oscar Brent BALDWIN born in 1877 died Feb. 8th 1930 and taken to the home in Burgaw.
