Obituary of Victoria “Vickie” Gallop Porter -- 2008
Victoria “Vickie” Gallop Porter, age 48, of Burgaw died Monday, Feb. 25, in Pender
Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 4, 1959 in Lawton, Okla. and was the daughter of Benjamin
J. and Mary Anderson Gallop of Barnesville, Ga. Vickie was a loving mother,
daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved her family dearly. Her zest
for life, her joyful spirit and her beautiful smile will always be remembered and greatly
missed.
In addition to her parents Vickie is survived by her daughters, Amanda Michelle
White and Alicia Coutee Gaskins both of Burgaw and Alicia’s fiancé, Kevin Anthony
Wells of Wallace; her grandson, Austin Shane Gaskins; sister, Jennifer DeLacerda
and her husband, Michael, of Willard; brother, Benjamin David Gallop of Burgaw and
Benjamin’s fiancée, Elaine Phillips of New Bern; niece, Candace DeLacerda Smith
and her husband, Thomas Smith, Jr.; nephew, Blake DeLacerda; great niece,
Tanaleigh Smith; and her Chihuahua, Sophia.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw
Chapel with the Rev Dan Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial
Park. Casketbearers will be Benjamin David Gallop, Kevin Wells, Thomas “Root”
Smith, Michael DeLacerda, Blake DeLacerda and Alexander Matthews. The family
will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral
Home in Burgaw.
